Overview
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the most popular short trekking destination in the Annapurna region. At an altitude of just 3210 m, it has the most amazing sunrise view over the towering Himalayan ranges. The snow-capped mountains clearly visible from here are the Annapurna mountain range, Dhaulagiri, Gangapurna, Lamjung Himal, Nilgiri, Tukuche peak, Hiunchuli, Barashikar, and Manaslu range. Although the climb from mountains to another mountain is difficult, the end reward of nature being at its best is definitely worth it. The trek is at a considerable elevation but it demands some moderate physical fitness level if you want to hike without much soreness. Trekking Ghorepani Poonhill is always a good idea for your vacation in Nepal because it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.
Trek to Ghorepani Poon Hill begins and ends in the exciting city of Pokhara. You can also tour the city before or after the trek. From Pokhara, you need to drive till Nayapul and start trekking uphill. The trail through the lush green mountain forest is very cool and refreshing. You will find many lodges and teahouses along the way since the trail is very popular among both Nepali as well as international tourists. The trail passes through wonderful villages like Ghorepani and Ghandruk inhabited by Gurungs and Magars. Further, in the higher elevation in the mountains, you will come across rhododendron forests and magnificent views of valleys, river gorges, and high mountains. During early mornings, the mass of trekkers flocks together at the viewpoint to witness the giant mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range glisten, as the first ray of sun hits the high rising mountains.
Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is one of those short treks that are available all throughout the year, but during harsh winters heaps of snow and ice might obstruct your trek. Yet off-season trekking could save you some privacy to enjoy the nature, in contrary to the over-crowd during the trekking seasons. Nevertheless, the trail is beautiful with more facilities than other short treks, good services and invigorating natural scenes throughout the trek. It is surely worth the space in your visit-bucket-list among all the short treks in Nepal. Remember Tam Adventures for 7 days Ghorepani Poon hill trek and other trekking in Annapurna Region like Mardi Himal Yoga Trek, ABC Trek, Royal Trek, Dhampus Village Trek, Round Annapurna Trek, and many more.
