Overview

In the canoe trips, you can find many gharials basking in the sun in the riverbanks, along with occasional birds and animals dropping by to quench their thirst or take a bath in the river. The national treasure of Chitwan is also a home to many migrants as well as local species of birds and a paradise for bird watchers. Birds like herons, egrets, storks, cranes, woodpeckers, hawks, falcons, ospreys, parakeets, ibises, kites, cuckoos, kingfisher, ducks, swallows, orioles are few to name among many species found in the jungle.
